Winter floral bouquet ideas – add a pop of colour to your ‘White Wedding’

Purple roses

The best thing about the modern bride is that she need not stick to flowers for her floral bouquet…there are so many ideas for the bridal bouquet these days, I thought I must select a few of my favourites. I mean did we honestly at one point think even succulents were not flowers? Now brides carry bright colourful bouquets of buttons!!….and don’t they look good! I am loving the new trends, darlings… It should be in tune with the theme, mood and colours of your wedding, and what we also have to remember is that when the bride tosses the bouquet, it becomes a very special memento for the girl who catches it…

One kind of flower, please. If you love a particular flower, why not use just that flower for your bouquet? A bouquet of just red roses can just brighten up a cold winter day like anything. Not just simple, this is classic.

Likewise for a pink bouquet…which flower says pink better than peonies?? In a mono-flower bouquet, add a bit of sparkle with crystal and a bit of green to break up the colour.

Yellow callas and Pincushion Protealook so pretty… they will bring summer to your winter wedding.

Mix up flowers. Use vibrantly opposite flowers or use variations of the same shade. Use the same kind of flowers in different shades or use different flowers in similar shades…the variations are endless…hunt till you find your dream bouquet. When you are the walking down the aisle, heart thumping, these flowers will give you strength and love…so chose well.

Carry all your favourite flowers for bring joy and love…

Purple roses and calla lilies will bring sophistication…

Daisies and mums will bring sunshine…

Use foliage and dry flowers. It is a winter wedding and how best to add colour but with beautiful leaves and dry floral elements. Pine cones and sprigs add so much beauty… you can add a touch of silver to the cones.

Baby’s Breath is always a good filler, especially with succulent leaves…

Flowers need not be fresh… Winter bouquets look very good with dry arrangements…

Simply foliage is also a very nice way to go… mix and match winter foliage..use succulents, tie the bouquet too with foliage…you can add baby’s breath and maybe a peony in for a burst of colour.

Holly is the best kind of colour in a winter bride’s bouquet… what do you think? The red really pops and the bouquet starts speaking. Plus, when all is said and done, it is the festive season after all and that bright red always makes me feel so happy and Christmassy.

This one really looks like spring with the curved branches looking so good…

Alternative bouquets. Why not just not think out of the box? Here are some lovely ideas. I am falling in love with this crystal bouquet. The best part is it would be such a delightful catch for your bridesmaids.

There are beautiful ceramic and clay bouquets available that won’t just be bursting with colour but will also for keeps!! Can you believe these beautiful freesias are made of clay? How delightful and fresh!!

Silk flowers look so good, you really don’t notice that they aren’t real. It does not just save money but adds so much beauty and foreverness…

Feathers sure look good, don’t they? Speaking of feathers, peacock feathers look pretty…

And if feathers are here, can fur be behind..check this bouquet out…flowers and fur go well together…

And what about buttons? I am really getting used and beginning to love the cute button bouquets… here, take a look at these…

Fruits and vegetables make beautiful winter bouquets too. Apples, carrots, artichokes, cabbage, cauliflowers, asparagus are all bouquet material for wedding bouquets.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful winter wedding. Stay blessed, and have tons and tons of fun!!
