Emmys Best and Worst dresses

I am more of a TV person myself and well, you know, feel more at home in the Emmys…. I mean, people you live with everyday in your living room walk down looking all hot and glamorous and well, very red carpet, and I feel I am part of it. In fact all of us at Wonderful Wraps feel the same way…

This year, there were more highs than lows but both are equally fun… At WW HQ we made a list…. let’s take a look, shall we?

Miss! Let’s begin with Lena Dunham, shall we? Ah! Now this one here has a lot of talk going on.  She was wearing an ombre pink Giambattista Valli dress which I did not quite get. Quirky, yes. Very her, yes. But then I thought quirky could be also be well fitted. But then, on the plus side, it does make you smile.

Hit! Have you seen legs like these? Julia Roberts does not age. I mean, seriously, can anyone guess her age?? The mini blue Elie Saab dress from his Haute Couture Fall 2014 collection sits very well and well… just looks fantastic! I loved it…

Miss! Laura Prepon’s dress was different….but darling, too many details. Gustavo Cadile’s dress was too top heavy for my liking. There’s a peplum and there’s a collar…. And you don’t even realize there’s two colours. Wonder wraps feel a bit of contrast would have worked better. 083114_0402_EmmysBestan3.jpg

Hit! Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) looked fabulous in a three-piece suit….083114_0402_EmmysBestan4.jpg

Miss!! … Mayim Bialik could have underdone it a bit. This lacy blue voluminous gown really…. Oliver Tolentino it is but did not quite suit the 2014 Emmy Awards.083114_0402_EmmysBestan5.jpg

Hit! And ooo lala! Louise Roe just wowed us all, didn’t she? It’s classy and flamboyant at the same time. The cut is great, fits deliciously… and did you see the sandals?  I mean everything from her clutch to her hairdo was just there. Wonderful Wraps superlike!083114_0402_EmmysBestan6.jpg

Miss! Yellow, yellow, dirty fellow…this was what came to mind when I saw Kate Walsh in this Stephane Rolland.  A daffodil in a children’s play, yes…red carpet in the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards? No!

Hit! Carolina Herrera’s halter neck dress was gorgeous. The thin red belt at the waist went very well with the one at the neck.  This is sublime at its best… minimal beauty…

Miss! OMG! What was that? Sarah Paulson’s Armani Prive gown looks like a puff ball…the embellishments would be great fun in a children’s party, though, and I can see kids loving this one. This one just was a bit too much for me….

Hit! Taylor Schilling looked absolutely stunning in a Zuhair Murad sheath dress with beautiful beadwork. Very classic and well lined yet a bit of sheer to lend glam and … loved the back…WW says – to die for!083114_0402_EmmysBestan10.jpg 083114_0402_EmmysBestan11.jpg

Miss! Gwen Stefani looked kind of faded I thought in this Versace gown. The fabric looked cheap and the neck with the metal ‘stripes’ kind of… I didn’t quite get it… It looks very Star Wars but hey, we are talking Emmy Awards here…

Hit! WW HQ went into total silence when Camilla Alves walked in… Matthew McConaughey’s lady love was just wow in a terrific lacy Zuhair Murad.  The dress is sheer and sexy but  classy too…just what the doctor or rather the style specialist ordered…

Hit! Hayden Panettiere shows off her baby bump beautifully

Hit! It takes guts to pull of this bold orange skirt combo but Sarah Hyland did it well… Wonderful Wraps suggest a stole on the arms…

Hit! Julie Bowen’s Peter Som gown looks cool, floaty and well, stunning…

…and now WW HQ is full of debate on the best dress…Who do you think deserves it??
