Christmas Party Dresses
The ultimate Christmas party guide
Wa-hoo the Christmas party season is upon us – and the best excuse for purchasing a new dress and accessories! Designers and the high street alike are full of stunning styles and ideas for you to dress to impress this festive season.
It can be so much fun shopping for your perfect dress but it also can be daunting.. dodging Christmas shoppers, queuing for parking, waiting for fitting rooms and still having no idea what to wear – so let us take away the pressure. Here are a collection of designer favourites we have chosen to entice you into the shops or online this festive season:
Want to be different; many of us find a party dress to ‘over the top’ and thankfully the rules have changed and it’s acceptable to wear a gorgeous jumpsuit, maxi dress (no jersey please) and even jeans at any Christmas party. However there are certain rules you rock ‘n’ roll chicks… if you go for jeans wear neat skinny indigo or black jeans, heels and a glamorous top with eye catching earrings or necklace; or for a more noticeable look try worn in jeans, some leopard-print, slinky top, big jewellery, bright heels and to mix it up a smart satin jacket and you’re good to go!
To add glamour I would always choose a pair of heels over flats – it can make such a difference, elongating your legs and adding a little sex appeal to your outfit. Designers have reported a 70% increase in heel sales alone this year, so grab yourself a pair.. from a colour matching your dress or change the rules and go for a completely different colour, maybe some leopard print or a bejewelled toe – kitten to skyscraper it’s all about sexing it up.
Necklaces are big news this season, but you’ll feel more on trend with a pairs of statement earrings. Seek out bows, chandeliers, pearl drops or vintage-looking pieces, but we draw the line at novelty earrings please ladies.. here are our top Christmas earring favourites:
Well the evening is over and even if you’ve organised a taxi we all know we will be waiting outside in the cold – so we say ‘still look amazing and keep toastie warm’! Faux fur and feather stoles, wraps, boleros rock this Christmas! It’s so big this year from your classic black, ivory and navy colours to stunning colours such as reds, pinks, burgundy and silver.
Your everyday work coat just won’t do for a cover-up at your Christmas party we suggest a stylish satin jacket it makes the perfect party coat – check out our long or short sleeved jackets.
Have fun Christmas shopping ladies and with the above advice we know you will be noticed under the mistletoe 😉
